Top Ten Tuesday / January 12, 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature gives a weekly Top Ten list. We all love lists, right? This week’s theme is Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t   So in other words, this is my shame list. The books that sound so good, and then got great reviews (at least from the people whose opinions I trust) but yet, I ran out of time. These are the books that if I could swap out some of more regrettable reads, or even some of my mediocre reads, I would in a second. But my reading decisions were what they were, and so here are the ones I really wish I had read.   The Fifth House of the Heart by Ben Tripp – I was SO excited for this one and really have no idea what happened with my reading schedule. Then it got awesome reviews and somehow I still didn’t read that. Fingers crossed I find/make the time for it this year Beyond Redemption by Michael R. Then I had authors with just two book, and there were probably maybe 6 I wanted to include. From that set of 2 books read, I ruled out any authors that have more books published, and I just haven’t read them yet (no matter how much I’ve enjoyed them…

This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015  Here’s my top 10, but in no particular order, but separated by genre (just note, some of these books fit under more than one genre). I have to admit, I am quite surprised that the majority of my selections are Science Fiction. I also decided to only include 2015 releases, just as another way to make it easier to pick! 🙂   FANTASY Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine The Just City/The Philosopher Kings by Jo Walton Grace of Kings by Ken Liu SCIENCE FICTION Flex by Ferrett Steinmetz The Rebirths of Tao by Wesley Chu The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi The Mechanical by Ian Tegillis Touch by Claire North HORROR Day Four by Sarah Lotz When We Were Animals by Joshua Gaylord
