Waiting on Wednesday – Starless by Jacqueline Carey
Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
I have heard so many great things about Kushiel’s Dart and have wanted to read it for years. However the size of the books and series is a bit daunting, so I keep putting it off. This new series looks like a great opportunity to finally read something by Carey! Without feeling like I am taking on an enormous undertaking.

Jacqueline Carey is back with an amazing adventure not seen since her New York Times bestselling Kushiel’s Legacy series. Lush and sensual, Starless introduces us to an epic world where exiled gods live among us, and a hero whose journey will resonate long after the last page is turned.
Let your mind be like the eye of the hawk…Destined from birth to serve as protector of the princess Zariya, Khai is trained in the arts of killing and stealth by a warrior sect in the deep desert; yet there is one profound truth that has been withheld from him.
In the court of the Sun-Blessed, Khai must learn to navigate deadly intrigue and his own conflicted identity…but in the far reaches of the western seas, the dark god Miasmus is rising, intent on nothing less than wholesale destruction.
If Khai is to keep his soul’s twin Zariya alive, their only hope lies with an unlikely crew of prophecy-seekers on a journey that will take them farther beneath the starless skies than anyone can imagine.

Ooohhhh. I want this. Very much so.
Interesting! I adored her first Kushiel’s Legacy trilogy (which is truly magnificent), so I’ll put this on my to-read list!
I’m so excited by this too. I still need to read Kushiel’s Dart as well, but it’s nice to get in on the ground floor of a new series.
This one is soooo high on my list of anticipated books! I can’t wait!
Oh great! I’m curious!
I like the sound of this one – I read Miranda and Caliban last year and loved it… Thank you for sharing.
