Stacking the Shelves – February 25, 2017

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!

It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions!

Received for Review

Thunderbird by Chuck Wendig – I really enjoyed the first three Miriam Black books. Her sardonic sense of humor just works really well for me, so I am looking forward to returning. Many thanks to Wunderkind and Saga Press for the review copy.

Pyr was also good to me this round, sending finished copies of both Black City Demon by Richard A. Knaak and Worldshaker by J. F. Lewis. Both of this, I need to catch up on previous books before I can read them, but the sound good. Thanks to Pyr for sending them my way!

I loved The Family Plot, the first and only book I’ve read by Cherie Priest so far. I am so excited to read Brimstone and see if it is just as good. Thanks to Ace!

Another surprise read for me last year was The Immortals by Jordanna Max Brodsky. I am really looking forward to returning to Manhatten and the lives of the greek gods there with Winter of the Gods. Many thanks to Orbit.

And then I had two audiobooks for review from Hachette Audio. The Prometheus Man, a SF thriller, and Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty. I’ve actually already listened to both of these and enjoyed them. Many thanks to Hachette Audio!

Giveaway Wins

The Devourers by Indra Das – Over at Books, Bones and Buffy, I won Tammy’s giveaway for 1 book from her favorites of 2016. I decided to go with The Devourers, partially because the reviews have been so good, and partially because I loved the cover! Many thanks to Tammy!

That same week, I also won a copy of Martians Abroad by Carrie Vaughn over from Wendell’s giveaway over at Bookwraiths. I’ve heard this one is supposed to be really good, I look forward to checking it out!
