Monthly Musings, Travel Edition – June 2017

This is a where I look back at what I read (or tried to read) during the past month. I also plan on highlighting my experiences in any book club reads I from the month as well. I will always start with any books I would label as a surprise find/under-read books so if anyone missed my reviews for them, and don’t make it to the end of this post, they’ll be easy to find.

This is a bit different edition of my Monthly Musings. I have been very busy in real life, and the blog has definitely slowed down a bit because of it. We are headed to Europe for a couple of weeks, so my reading and blogging time will definitely be pretty sparse (if existent at all). Once I get back though, I am hopeful everything will get back to normal and you’ll start seeing more posts and reviews around here again. We fly out today, and land in Paris tomorrow! I will probably mainly *try* to sleep on the plain, but maybe I’ll get in some good reading time too.

Review Summary

Guest Post/Giveaway

I currently have a giveaway for Twelve Days by Steven Barnes! Be sure to check it out and enter.

What I Read

  • The Refrigerator Monologues by Catherynne M. Valente
  • A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
  • Without a Summer by Mary Robinette Kowal

Backlist Burndown

I read Without a Summer and have the review 80%  written. I’ll post it when I get it finished. Since I don’t have anyone else participating with Backlist Burndown, I am going to laxen when I post a bit. There have been some months where I have actually read more than 1 backlist book, and now I think I may just run the reviews when I have them and have an overall goal of 12 a year.
